DJOKOVIC AIMS FOR ANOTHER GREAT YEAR

Current world number one Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic is enjoying a short break before he starts a battle till his last breath to secure his title in the Indian Wells in the coming days.

While speaking about his previous year’s performance and his aims for this year, he said that last year was really amazing – the best year of his tennis career. He does not know he can repeat it or not, but this season is going to be very, very tough. He is looking ahead to Indian Wells championships, and the other events that are coming up, and believes they are really important for setting the tone for the whole season.

His title defense begins in California on Thursday. The championship will be played on hard courts and features a prize money of $ US 11 million. This is a joint championship; therefore, both woman and man will play simultaneously.

Djokovic is looking for to perform the heroics of grabbing 4 back to back grand slam titles by winning the Roland Garros in June. It will be a huge task for Novak to beat the king of clay courts, the Spanish ace Rafa Nadal, but anything can happen here in the world of tennis.

At present, he is keeping his mind on Indian Wells and has a huge task to see off his rivals to keep his title. The best tennis odds suggest that Djokovic will be the favourite, especially after defeating Rafa in a 6 hour marathon final at the Australian Open in January.
